Lagniappe’s neighborhood is centered around the Faubourg Tremé in New Orleans (faubourg is French for neighborhood).
Our target neighborhood is bounded by North Rampart Street, Canal Street, North Broad Street and St. Bernard Avenue. Tremé is a culturally rich neighborhood with strong traditions and deep roots.
A Community-Centered, Neighborhood School
Lagniappe values school choice, but also believes it is important and valuable for students and families to attend a neighborhood school. Making Lagniappe a neighborhood school allows students to walk or bike to school and facilitates frequent interactions between students, teachers and parents.
Lagniappe’s intention is to join forces with the surrounding neighborhood and create meaningful opportunities for interactions and collaboration between neighbors, community members and the school.
